Communicate ideas in Spanish and English in writing and also verbally through the use of strategies, metalinguistic abilities as well as the technologies of communication, with sensitivity and willingness to interact in a positive manner.
Personal reflection of the competence:
This PhD program is a bilingual doctoral program in Business Administration. I have been able to learn Spanish, though very limited. It has been extremely difficult because I never studied one day of Spanish in school. I have been able to get to the point where I can understand conversation in Spanish fairly well. However, speaking it is still a problem although my Spanish vocabulary has improved significantly from what it was when I started the doctoral program. I intend to further immerse myself in Spanish by moving to a Spanish country so I can learn the language and speak it proficiently.
